DRAWN MOCK-UP
This drawing above, indicates elements of the fabric pieces I am currently making.
These pieces contain various panels and differing weights of white sheer, cotton and crochet pieces, stitched together. Contained among these fabrics, are stitched lines of prose and poetry which I am currently composing.
I have indicated numbers in this drawing, which correspond to the house numbers of my family, friends & neighbours.
It is my intention that the finished pieces will be suspended about 12 to 24 inches from the ground.
The suspension will be supported by posts or poles on the sides of the fabrics, or suspension from above where available.
See following mock-ups.
In the piece I have drawn above, there is a door shape. This will create a walkway for audiences to engage with the work. I intend to create 3, 4 or 5 fabric pieces in a similar style, containing varying door and window shapes reflecting the shapes of our homes in Shannon.
I have also indicated imagery, such as photographs to be included in the fabrics. I hope to be allowed to use some photographs by my neighbours and community, to include in these pieces.
A film will be projected, where suitable, or played through a tv screen as appropriate. This film will include my moving image recordings of everday life in Shannon:
Walking dogs, Shopping, Talking with neighbours, Cutting grass (tidy town activities) and so on
These will be accompanied by poetic narratives and the voices of the wider community. These voices will comment on the everyday, on life in general, on living in Shannon, memories of their town. The themes of the film and the fabric pieces will connect and overlap.
I am an advocate for the respectful inclusion of participants along with their donated media.
I will only use materials for which informed consent has been explicitly given.
The FILM - INSTALLATION is planned as a one night outdoor event in Cronan Lawn in Shannon.
I propose that the work will then move to an indoor space, either within a few days, or weeks, depending on space and availabilty.
I have proposed this exhibit to the Library in Shannon. I have exhibited work here in the past, and have always experienced positive support and response from the library and from audiences in this location. In this space
I expect that some audiences will attend specifically to see the work, and others will accidentally happen
upon it, as they visit the busy library.

MOCK-UP
These mock-ups show the Green Space in the proposed location, above and below, with film idea projected
onto a gable wall. The proposed time is from around 7:30pm to 10pm, due to evening light and the nature
of projection.
SEE BELOW: Fabric pieces in imagined position, suspended by posts, hung from a tree, different solutions.
These pieces will be installed around 4pm, available for audiences to view in advance of film projection.

If suitable, fabric pieces will hang in a row in front of a behind this piece shown above,
creating a walkway of sorts, through the space.
In the library the film will be played on a tv screen
This exhibition is proposed to take place in the days and weeks after Culture Night
