Christina Bennett is a filmmaker-visual artist. Born in Belfast, she has lived most of her life in Co. Clare. Her artist-films confront experiences of conflict displacement, with the insights of both the artist and her community. Still and moving image experiments, are combined with sounds, poetic narratives and participant voices. Themes of passing time, home & identity are also included as intrinsic aspects of these expressions.Her combined media works, paintings, textiles, poems and installation also express these experiences, with consideration of materials and their relevance and impact on outcomes and meaning.
Christina's films have been selected and shortlisted in various film festivals in Ireland, UK & USA.In 2022 she was selected as a participant on the Cork International Film Festival, IGNITE-Docs talent development programme.
